Just got a brand new s22+ phone. And it's usb already having issue to connect to the usb-c headphones. There was a error message of the device not supported. Even though the headphones was working with other phones. Had also tried with a couple of working usb-c to 3.5mm adaptor with working earphones. Had samsung phones quality dropped that low ? And should i sent to starhub for replacement or samsung for repair? Please advise. Thank you.
You could try going to the bottom right hand side of this site and select Support. It'll give you an option of testing your hardware in general and you can test different types of headphones and USB cables with your device. It could be a driver issue or protocol issue but you can start by using the Diagnostics feature in Support.
The adapter you buy must state that it has a DAC chip in it. If it doesn't, then it will not work with Samsung phones. They're like $3 more expensive on eBay, but as long as it specifically states that it has a DAC chip, then it will work.
Thank you for the reply. Think you are correct. No mention on such requirements for the new phone. They must have removed the dac chip in the new phone. Had already wasted money for the usb-c to 3.5mm adaptors. Would get a new one with DAC to try. Thank you very much on the help.
