My Samsung S22 no longer allows you to change your text message sounds. The last update destroyed that. My carrier said they've been getting many calls regarding this. People are really upset about it. I've pretty much had it with Samsung. I've had their phones for years, but anymore they're nothing but trouble, and they don't help you one bit. They could care less.
Try going to settings then notifications, scroll down to advanced settings and turn on Manage Notifications Categories For Each App and that should work
