Ok went to use my camera to check a bite on the back of my neck.

1. Apperently you can't zoom in on a galaxy s23 with the forward facing camera.

2. It forces you to be focuses on your face.

3. For some reason it thinks requires permissions to the mic and remote devices to take a picture.

As far as I remember, you could never zoom in on profiles using the front camera. I've found it easier using a wall mirror to see what's on the screen using the back camera (it's usually a better quality photo anyway). The camera is used for photos and videos. It requires the mic for the videos. You can't turn off the video option and only use the camera for still photos. The remote permission is likely to be able to use a stylus or selfie stick to take photos without needing to press the shutter button, although I'm not certain about the last part.

The permissions are to use your video camera!
They access the microphones on your phone!

It's a selfie camera, duh!

Not everyone takes selfies or records video.

I mean seriously, who is so narcissistic to need a selfie camera.

All the pictures of myself taken with my phone, were done by my little niece playing with the camera.

When doing shotsvlike this I find it easier in fact better to use video and record the area you want to see. You can always zoom in on a recording plus the light comes on giving you better details. Pulling stills from video is simple so try that
