As others have said, it's usually due to a weak signal. You don't necessarily have to be too far from cell tower, you could be right across the street. If something in your home is blocking the signal, you will drop the connection. To combat this, turn on wi-fi calling and keep it on. If you already have wi-fi calling on and are still getting this message, that's a whole different issue.
