I have an s23 and have created many albums in Gallery. When I connect the S23 via USB to Windows 10 PC I can see all of my photos in the DCIM folder but none of the albums. Tried syncing with OneDrive with no luck. Tried Google Quick Share and it took 6 minutes to transfer an album with 4 pics and I have 147 albums with some as many as 150+ pics. Would take months to transfer. Trying to free up memory and save the albums. Any help appreciated. Thanks.

I donā€™t have my phone with me at the moment but if my memory is correct donā€™t make the folders in the Dcim make regular folders I believe if I remember correctly in the picture dir

All my albums are listed as folders in the DCIM folder. The ones I originally made on the internal drive and also the ones created after I made my default save location the SD card. My pictures folder contains auto created SM download folders.

Try going to the gallery app, opening a photo or two, tapping the info icon to see the storage location.

When I tap on a photo in the photos gallery in DCIM I can see detail of location but when I tap on a photo in an album I can not see "details". Thanks for trying.

You have to click the little circled "i" next to the edit pencil or swipe up on the photo in the Gallery *app*, not the file manager.  This is the way you can see where the photos are actually stored.  I can tap any photo in my gallery, whether in album or all pictures view, and see the photo info.

This is how my albums are stored in the DCIM folder (They are empty because I moved them to the SD card, since my phone still has SD storage). First photo is internal storage DCIM, second photo is SD card DCIM, third folder is my gallery Albums, fourth photo is example of swiping up to see info. Your albums, for whatever reason, may not be being stored in the DCIM folder, but rather in the root directory.  This is where I initially found some of my albums.

I did what you said and a photo in an album has ".jpg/Internal storage/SdCardBackUp/DCIM/Camera/(name of album).

These albums were transferred from my previous phone S8 which is long gone.

Thanks again.
