The pen is one of my favorite things of the S23 Ultra, except when I can't use the s-pen without the hover cursor drifting or not registering touch, though the wireless button commands still work.

Did it get the s-pen wet at all? Even a little moisture causes issues. You can use a warm hair dryer to dry it out, and it goes back to working normally.

Do you have a case that has magnets or metal plates? I had a case that would cause this. I figured it out when I decided to change my case. I still use the other case when I ride my bike but other than that I never use it.

No, I only have a thin case that I don't take off often, could it be due to dust in the tip of the pen? The end of the pen that you press to remove it always gets pressed in my pocket, so the slot in the phone is "open"

Nah. This problem would happen now often.

Understood, that has been my main concern anyway about dust and lint, but I will first replace the tip and go from there
