Updated my samsung s23 ultra to one ui 6.1 this morning and no sound from the phone. It is not playing any media files on any apps. No audio sound for the incoming/outgoing calls. Bluetooth also not working. Horrible Experience.

The sound has always been trash on my s23plus. It's impossible to listen to music.

My s23 is doing the same. I had to get a volume booster to even help the problem. My fosgate 12 sounds like **bleep** along with all my previous great sounding speakers. Then noticed it on my earbuds and Bluetooth speaker: lowered volume and sounds crappy. Really not happy at all. Hope they fix it soon.

My volume is distorted too, and I even hard reset, and that didn't work.

Same problem here.. I have the S23 FE and I noticed some volume issues since past week or so but now the overall quality of the sound is terrible.. I thought it was the Bluetooth headphones at first but I compared with other devices and the problem is definitely in the cellphone..

Hope they'll patch it soon because the experience is definitely very bad at the moment

I also have a similar fault, I should not have compulsively upgraded. Now I find myself with a 1000ā‚¬ device that sounds bad, with distorting treble and really poor overall clarity. in comparison a 200ā‚¬ Honor sounds much better, night and day, i'm perplexed. Such a shame!

I just updated my Samsung s23 ultra to one ui 6.1 and the sound quality is terrible now. I just bought headphones and I was trying them to understand whether they are good. Now it messed up everything!

Will a patch come soon, this is insane. Why do you break something working? Why do you release an update before you make sure it works?

So first off this same exact thing happened when I had the S20 ultra. Literally was the most amazing sound ever from a phone when new then every update it went lower and muddier. The S23 ultra brand new didn't ever match the volume of the S20u, and the balance was way off. I've heard people make the case of them not wanting people to blow their ear out by picking the phone up to their ear when full volume, but i think it's more likely a gradual deprecation steering people to replace with the newer phones. I remember when I could crank my S20u and I could literally hear it all over the house. The s23u was never that loud and now with the latest update i can't even go for a walk and hear music / audiobook etc without earphones. I know most people want to use earphones, but I often want to just hear the sound from the phone speakers. And honestly sometimes I just want an instant party!! But now it's only in "acceptable" range if you are in a quiet room now and that's about the extent of it. Gone are the days when I could literally turn it up. I've installed and set all the settings with sound assistant and even tried volume booster which is "Ok" up to 125% boost but gets unbearably muddier beyond that. Please Samsung.. fix the volume/sound issues. It's unfair when many of us use our phones now as our music library. Also should mention that the issues carry over to Bluetooth devices that used to blast tunes on desire.. not anymore. It's all being governed now.
