Swipe from bottom gesture from Home Screen - unreliable

On my S23, when an app window is open, I can swipe from the bottom to reveal a gallery of open app windows. However, when no app window is open and I'm just on my Home Screen, I cannot reliably perform this same bottom up swipe gesture. Sometimes it works, but only after a few tries. I've tried going slowly, fast, etc, and I can't figure out how to make it work reliably. (This is with the latest Android/Samsung updates btw). And I've also tried Good Lock>NavStar, and tried adjusting the  navigation bar swipe gestures sensitivity, neither of which made any discernible difference.)

Any solutions to this unreliable behavior?

Hello,

There are 2 gestures from the bottom screen:

1. From bottom to center, release finger quickly-> takes you to home screen.

2. From bottom to center, HOLD finger there and release after 1 second -> Opens the Open app windows you are talking about.

Let me know if you need more help.

@SergioRC20 thanks much for your reply. The second upward gesture you describe doesn't quite work that way on my phone. Meaning holding for one second doesn't seem to do anything. However either zigzagging while swiping up or swiping up holding and then swiping up again seems to work. Though it seems to me this behavior should be exactly the same as when swiping up to reveal open app windows. This is how it is on a Pixel btw.

Glad it helped! You can tweak the sensitivity of the Gestures by going to Settings>Display>Navigation Bar.

It also shows all gestures on the right side figure. If you don't mind, please mark this thread as closed by clicking the 3 dots on the top right corner or let me know if you need more help.

The open apps are accessible via tapping the three line icon on the navigation bar. When you've been swiping up, you may have been hitting that sweet spot. When you are at your home screen, one of two things happen by swiping up--you will bring bring up Samsung Pay (if enabled), or you will open the app drawer.

Got away from iphone to have options. Just have the way I've been using for 7 years as an option

I tried everything including nav star. I hate the navigation bar and always had it set on invisible, using swipe gestures. Samsung took that function away with the last update. Every time they do and update everything gets worse and worse.

I had the same exact problem after the last update..I recently went back into apps and found that the 3 invisible controls were back!
