I can't remove widgets without uninstalling them. When I select one, I get options of uninstall and add to folder. The remove option seems to be gone.

You should be able to long press on it and drag to the top or bottom over the X

There is no X anymore. That's how I used to do it.

I know, right? So strange. My husband has an X too. Same phone. It has to be a setting, but I can't find it.

i don't know of any settings that you can change to add or remove the X from the screen I would suggest restarting your phone and see if that works

Thanks, I tried that a few times too with no luck. I think I finally figured it out. I'll put it here in case someone else needs it.

Settings >Home Screen >Home Screen layout> Home and Apps. Instead of "home screen only."
