Galaxy S24After months of us getting used to it, they forcefully took it away. The swipe for assistant in the navigational bar section has been removed too. They replaced it with a one time noticification of using the side button.

Galaxy S24Since this is the Google Assistant I am not sure if Samsung had a choice to keep the feature. It appears to have been removed from the Pixel phones for a few models now. Maybe Samsung thought it interfered with the use of circle to search by long pressing the navigation bar but just guessing.
The choices you have now are changing the side button long press from power menu to Google Assistant or turn on "Hey Google/OK Google" in the Assistant settings. If you do the latter make sure you retrain your voice so you get a better match. You could also put the Gemini app on you home screen, tap on it to open and then tap the microphone.
I noticed it missing on the One UI Beta and I turned on the "Hey Google" feature and I actually don't even miss the swipe gesture. This is coming from a person that hates change and if I can get used to the switch in a short period of time and not even miss it then maybe give it a shot and try one of the other options.

Galaxy S24Bring back the corner swipe gesture to
launch Assistant in One UI 7. It's a
universal Android feature. It worked in
One UI 6. There's no reason it should be
gone.
Aditionally this creates inconsistancies between versions oneui 6/6.1 and oneui 7
Also also samsung devs have the frameworks and ability to bring this back it if nothing just let it be enabled via goodlock/navstar
