It's simple and convenient to enable the work profile on my Galaxy S24 by touching the launcher icon of a disabled app and agreeing to the prompt. It ought to be simple and convenient to turn it off too, but the instructions I've found (first sign it's overcomplicated) have me drilling down into the system settings. Here's a screenshot of how Google does it on the pixel phones, with a convenient button on the bottom right.
