Hello,

I am constantly annoyed by the spelling and grammar checker telling my I made an error because I did not include the oxford comma. I do not use the oxford comma, but I can not see an option to disable it in the settings. I see an option to turn the spellcheck off completely, but nothing like in Word where I can customize what it corrects for.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Ignoring the double blue lines is a thing.

I know I can ignore them. That doesn't mean I wouldn't still like to be able to disable superfluous corrections.

So, turn off text correction. Open the settings wheel on your keyboard, navigate to "suggest text corrections" tap it and turn off the slider. Or do it through settings/general management/keyboard list and default/Samsung keyboard.  It's turn it all off or keep it on and ignore it.  The text correction is programmed, obviously, for the Oxford comma and I doubt it's going to change. Otherwise, those that *do* use it, will get the same double blue line suggestions to remove it.

You could just say there's no option, there's no need to act so dismissive and rude. I don't see why you act like it's such a crazy request, most programs have an option like this one in Word. This is a function most programs have and it's odd samsung doesn't. Grammarly has it in the settings as well, which is what samsung says they're using.WordStopOxfordCommaCheck_2_1000016676_1739540034.png

There is an option. The option is to turn off suggest text suggestions. If you have other programs that perform that function, use that. If you felt the response was dismissive, you must have very thin skin. It was a sraightforward response.

Are you intentionally dense? "Turn off suggest text" is not an option or solution anymore than saying using the pin would be a solution for my fingerprint reader not working or telling me to download google pay because samsung's wallet wasn't working.

Yes I could download grammarly but I'd obviously prefer if the option was just available natively without needing a 3rd party app permanently running in the background. If what I initially saw was correct and there is no way to use a simple feature in the samsung system, then that's fine, but I don't know why you're so insistent on repeating back to me the option I already put in my initial question.

You want to turn off the Oxford comma prompt. Those are the only options you have; turn off text suggestions completely, ignore the prompt, or use the 3rd party app. Obviously, it is not me who is the dense one. You have a failure to understand your options.

I think you can always ignore spelling and grammar corrections and type pretty much anything you want.
