Hello all. I am having an issue with my old custom ringtone. I am trying to put it on my Watch 6 from my S24; it's an mp3 file that is already on my phone, but in myfiles. I cannot figure out how to get it into the Samsung music app.
So it has been only in myfiles for over 15 years. Somehow it ended up being taken out of the setting under sounds & vibrations. I believe this is because there were duplicates & empty files that supposedly were the same thing, & I deleted all of those. I still see it in myfiles.
Does anyone know what to do? It's on my HP Windows 11 laptop, too. My phone is hooked up to it. I literally can see it. If only myfiles had a ringtone option somewheres...really dumb that it isn't there. Thank you!
My files has a ringtone folder. The watch does not have a ringtone folder, and I do not believe that you can add a custom sound to the watch 6. If you are using a ringtone that was a system tone on any of your older phones, it would not be visible in the ringtone folder on your phone. Only custom ones you downloaded or added are visible.
Update: I did figure out how to fix things up on my phone, so the ringtone works again. I also figured out how to add the mp3 to the Samsung music app. I can now see the ringtone in the music app on my watch. Some folks here referred me to a You Tube video showing a workaround, similar to an article I read online. So I needed to add a file explorer app to my watch. I did, it's called MyWear. You're supposed to create 2 folders in there called ringtone & notifications. I did that. But, I cannot figure out how to use all these ideas to actually move the music over, although I see that others have done it. So confused & frustrated. The part I'm stuck on is, how to transfer the music into the MyWear app. It only goes to music app. I'll try T-Mobile & see if they can help. If anyone can further instructions, that would be great! MyWear is empty. Thank you.
