Did you mean Dutch (Belgium) or Dutch (Netherlands)? For the Americas, Dutch will be available eventually, but only for the Wi-Fi variants of the Tab S9 series. We used Dutch (Netherlands) as the default since Dutch (Suriname) is not on the list (one of the few countries in the Americas to support Dutch).
(Unfortunately, the Tab S8 series will not receive the Galaxy AI feature update.)Screenshot_20240203_201535_Samsung setup wizard_1000051197_1707020138.png

I received my S24U on Tuesday.  I'm coming from a Pixel 7 Pro, so trying to get used to the differences in the software between the two.  I ordered the unlocked Titanium Black 512GB model - it looks dark gray in person, which I love.  I haven't had a Samsung phone since the Galaxy S4 Google Play Edition, but I've had a couple of tablets and have the Tab S8 Ultra right now and really like it.  I also pre-ordered a OnePlus 12 and compared the two phones.  Here are my thoughts on the S24U:

  • Screen is really fantastic.  It's gorgeous and bright to me.  I know Samsung regulars are used to really vivid colors, but it looks great to me.  It makes the Pixel 7 Pro looks almost dull and washed out next to it.  I prefer natural colors anyway.  The OnePlus 12 screen is also great - it might be a little brighter than the S24U.  Either is a great option.
  • Speed, smoothness, scrolling are all great.
  • Fast charging is OK.  I have a 45 watt charger from when I bought the Tab S8 Ultra, so I'm covered there.  It works with a OnePlus Warp 50 wireless charger that I already have for "fast charging" wirelessly as well.  OnePlus offers 100 watt wired charging and 50 watt wireless charging.  Samsung needs to step it up in terms of fast charging.
  •  Lots of settings and customization options.
  • Cell reception is really important to me - 4G LTE and 5G reception seem really good overall, better than the Pixel by a significant margin.  My house is in a tough spot for cell reception, 4G LTE is fine but 5G not so much.  The phone seems to want to hold on to a weak 5G signal in favor of a stronger 4G LTE signal.  I wish I could set the phone to prefer 4G over 5G - I can do that on the OP12 but Samsung has taken that option away. I tested the S24U in a few locations away from home where I know that cell reception isn't good and it was better than the Pixel 7 Pro.
  • It was great to see the that the S24U has WiFi Calling on AT&T, so I can just be on WiFi at home.  OP12 is WiFi calling-capable, but apparently AT&T doesn't allow it to access that feature.
  • WiFi seems great - very fast.
  • Little thing but I like being able to have a Google Photos slide show going while the phone charges wirelessly.  The OnePlus 12 has no screen saver option at all.
  • Android Auto worked seamlessly for me on both devices.  No issues like I've seen some report in the forum.
  • I miss some of the Pixel dialer features like Call Screening, Hold For Me.  Samsung does have robust spam call blocking built-in to its dialer.  Samsung dialer is better than the OP 12.

Overall I really like the S24U a lot.  It's tough as no phone has everything I want.  I'm probably a little different in that I don't overly care about the cameras too much - they're all good enough on flagship level phones and it's personal preference.  Pixel has some great software features and great cameras, but sub-par hardware and charging, and some ridiculous software bugs given they control the hardware and software.  Samsung has great hardware and cameras, some strange software choices, and slow(er) charging.  OP has great hardware, pretty good software, but a couple of missing features.  This is going to be a difficult decision.

When you figure out all of the settings, install GoodLock for more.

You can disable 5G in network settings.

My unlocked S24U does not have the "Network Mode" in the Mobile Networks settings.  There does not appear to be a user-accessible setting to change it.

Depends on what you want. In most use cases no. Most of the stuff will trickle down.

I would say no.. I'm the same. I bought an S23 Ultra on December and I don't see much of a difference.

The S23 is very good. I would not recommend upgrading. UI 6.1 (which is currently just on the s24) will end up on the 23 Ultra and some older devices. In other words, some of the AI features that are on the 24 Ultra right now, most likely will be on the 23 Ultra in the near future.
