S24 Ultra - Camera photos missing from Gallery

I just returned from a month long vacation, and went to transfer my photos and videos from my phone to my PC, and none of them are there! However, I can view all of them using Google Photos. Some pictures from the last couple of days are there, as well as screen shots and downloaded pictures. They are not in trash - only some that I deliberately deleted, they aren't synced to OneDrive either. I have plenty of space on the phone, and I did not archive photos in Google Photos. 

Please help! I can get my pictures from Google Photos, but the quality is degraded. I want to transfer the originals as taken by the phone camera.

I found the pictures in storage/emulated/0/DCIM/Camera.  Not sure how to get there in Windows.  Just started after April 30.  Suspicious of a Samsung OS update.

Lost all my photos and videos from my Samsung galaxy 24 ultra . It vanished all of sudden not even in the trash . I saw photos was there 5 days back but now nothing .  The app all working fine with out any issue , since my backup was full I Did not have space to backup on Google cloud on this new phone and not my photo s and videos are gone for ever. Samsung has to work on it as it is some thing with the device software at least bring back the SD CARD option . If any one have any leads to recover that's helpful . Photos and videos was only saved in phone memory

I am at a loss here.  I do not know what could have happened to your photos, but my guess is it has something to do with whatever "cloud" you store them in.  I refuse the cloud, and even removed the OneDrive free thing when I bought my S24 Ultra.  That said, I do own my S24 Ultra, and bought it right when it released.  I have never had any problems like this whatsoever.  I even have photos in my gallery that go way back to November of 2019 (they would go back farther, but I left my phone on a bus, so lost everything that was stored on it).

I have had this issue. I can take a picture and it doesn't show up. I thought I was doing something wrong.

Mine was doing the same...ends up when I done samsung smart switch it created a folder in my s24 called sdbackup. It wasn't showing until I went to all files...internal storage...then clicked the tab at the top and selected show all folders including hidden folders. Then I had to copy an paste all the pics over to my main DCIM folder. This got all my pics back.

Not finding this sdbackup folder. not hidden. holiday photos gone 😫

Me too. I was backing up some of my albums onto dropbox last night. Came back to finish backing up today and the entire Camera album is missing along with some photos from the remaining albums. This is utterly ridiculous! @samsung what is the resolution for this????
