Can yall fix the motioncam app? It's enough that yall used it to make the "shot on samsung" ads without crediting them, but at least fix it for everyone else rather than just fixing it for you guys to make that ad. Add 60 fps, at least, to every lens, fix the main camera bug on the s24u and other bugs. For you that may not know, motioncam is an app that allows you to capture photos and videos in raw format amd it's the app samsung used to shoot some, if not all of their, "shot on samsung" ads.

S24 ultra can't take RAW photos with main 23mm Camera in any 3rd party apps like Lightroom, Open Camera, Motioncam etc. Other cameras 0.6, 3x and 5x are OK.

I can confirm that the S24 Ultra cannot use it's main camera to record RAW videos in apps like Motioncam, etc. Please fix this Samsung.

Has anyone had any luck getting the S24U working with third party camera apps like Motioncam, MCPro24fps, etc? Either the app crashes within seconds of opening it or the main lens is rendered inoperable and either errors out or spits out corrupted looking photos/videos. Is there any word about an update from Samsung that will fix this?

Have you tried contacting the developers of the apps in question? The issue is likely a compatibility problem on their end. Motioncam hasn't received an update since November 2022. I can't install MCPro24fps without paying, but they should be able to tell you more about the issue: info@mcpro24fps.com

I've contacted Motioncam recently, they said it's on Samsung's end. Apparently all third party camera apps are having issues with the S24U in one way or another. Motioncam actually has been updating the app periodically, in fact they have a beta for version 3 up for download that came out today.

While technically this is caused by Samsung (releasing a new device, how dare you!) the issue is that the software is not compatible with the new device, and only the app developers can fix this.  It is not on Samsung to update every app to be compatible.  If so you would not see new phones yearly, but more like once every 5 years, at best.

The issue is that the devs are saying it's Samsung's fault. They said there is nothing they can do on their end to fix it.

That is definitely an issue.  Developers always blame tech advancements.  It would not be an issue if Samsung had not made a new device.

When it comes to the camera there are no tech advancements. Aside from the 5x telephoto lens all the cameras on the S24U are the SAME as the S23U. The issue is that Samsung released the S24U with what appears to be beta software, not even the vivid mode for the screen works. Sometimes it's ok to acknowledge that the manufacturer released their new product a little too early with one too many bugs.

I doubt the devs for these camera apps would all come to the same conclusion that the issue is with Samsung. If the devs were at fault they would be telling their customers to wait for a patch, because why wouldn't they want their software to work with the hottest and most sought-after phone right now? Instead, they tell us there is nothing they can do on their end and recommend bringing up the issue to Samsung, because Samsung broke something on their end and the devs don't have the same access to the camera code as Samsung does.
