Is it actually overheating or just getting more warm than usual? You can see what's going on by downloading Good Guardians from the Galaxy store and then the thermal guardian, which will tell you if you are actually overheating (and what's causing it), and the battery tracker module which will tell you what apps are using the battery. The battery guardian module will provide you with extra tools to protect your battery. You may have too much going on in the background and putting unnecessary apps to sleep will prevent that. Keep in mind that after an update, the phone will always get a little warm for a while because of all the activity going on putting everything in place. If your phone was truly overheating, it would freeze up and most likely shut down to protect itself.
