Galaxy S24Hello!
I am still using a Samsung Galaxy S20 FE and I am looking to upgrade to the Samsung Galaxy S24 because it seems like a perfect upgrade but I am concerned about having to only use Google Messages and Keyboard. I really prefer the Samsung UI system. The keyboard and messages specifically for Samsung is better to me because it seems to fit better. I want to be able to only use the Samsung Messages and Keyboard. It also has to do with themes and fonts for the Messages and Keyboard using Samsung UI. In my personal opinion, the Google Messages and Keyboard are for the UI of Google phones, if that makes sense.

Galaxy S24Good idea. I do know from reading technology magazines and articles that Samsung Messages will be still installed but you have to look for it on the device. I am testing out Google Messages and Keyboard on my S20 FE and I am not sure if I really want to use it on the S24.
How is your S23+? Does it overheat much? I think the S24 won't overheat like the S22 would.

Galaxy S24I don't know how much longer Samsung messages will be supported.
This is a Google edict. They want all Android devices to be on one platform worldwide. Eventually, there will be no more Samsung messages. Google owns the platform, and they make the rules.
As far as the keyboard goes, Samsung Keyboard is on by default. You would need to download GBoard if you wanted to use it.

Galaxy S24Oh, snap. That sucks. Google Messages going to be the solid default ugh. Well **bleep** Google. Samsung Messages worked just fine! I liked the UI interface and customizability that came with it. Like the widgets and the themes and fonts. But I understand Google's wanting all Android phones to have their messaging thing. The keyboard for Google goes with Google. Since I am on the S20 FE I saw how mismatched the Samsung Keyboard with Google Messages is. The themes and fonts clash so using the Google Keyboard with Google Messages is the more "sound" way to go. Samsung Messages and Keyboard go better along with the Samsung UI. If that makes sense.

Galaxy S24Aaaand, I just discovered that sure you can set the Samsung Keyboard to somewhat match the appearance of Google Messages to make it look more uniform. I did that by switching from theme keyboard (keyboard appearance when you have a Samsung Theme set from the Theme Store) to dark mode. You will still have the Samsung Fonts on the keyboard but that is okay. Lol.
