I've noticed when I trim videos, the frame rate will drop when all of the other factors are kept the same.

This is so annoying. I trim my videos all the time to save space/keep the highlights. I never had this problem with any of the last Samsung phone. Thinking of returning the phone now. It really is a huge set back

Iā€™m not going to perform a factory reset when the issue clearly lies with your video software, which you haven't acknowledged or tried to reproduce. You're offering generic responses despite others facing the same issue. The problem is only solved using third-party apps. It may be linked to the Exynos processor, missing kernel instructions, Android 14, or AI interference, but it's a bug on your end. You should test the difference between Exynos and Snapdragon processors. I'm using a Galaxy A53, but Galaxy S24 users and others are also affected. Please fix this.

Is this seriously still not fixed? I also noticed in addition to the framerate/ quality drop, the color changes ever so slightly to a slightly more orange/yellow, although that might be related to the quality thing. Super frustrating, like others I've had to just edit in a 3rd party app which is annoying when all I need to do is trim a few seconds.

The last thing they said was for me to bring my phone to a Samsung service center. They didnā€™t even try to replicate the problem through the 'Contact Us' option. Just a bunch of copy-and-paste generic replies. Itā€™s disappointing because I really wanted to stick with this brand, but I canā€™t when they wonā€™t acknowledge or fix their video editing software.

Oddly enough, if you edit and save any video recorded on the camera with a third-party app, then edit it with the built-in editor, it's fine to trim, etc. You just canā€™t edit or trim fresh videos.

Same problem with S21. I don't understand what takes so long to fix it.

Same issue on my Samsung S23 Ultra. Such a waste. Your entire video is basically useless as you would want to edit it to post on social media or public forums.  What is Samsung doing about this? Such pathetic issues make you want to switch to iPhone.

It's this app I believe 'Samsung Studio'.  I've tried to find it in the Samsung App Store but cannot locate it. My version currently shows 6.1.65.0 and I tried manually updating it to 6.1.66.x as well as 6.3.xxx via APK file but the system seems to prevent updates that way.

I think I have discovered the problem.

Deactivate the video option "auto FPS" in camera settings. Besides, try to use either FHD at 60 or UHD at 60. Make sure you do the same with your front camera.

The problem with samsung is that every time you film at 30fps and the video ends up with a number below that, (29fps or below for example) the video editor won't match the frame rate and it will look choppy. That why you should use 60frs. If the video ends up with 59 or 58, you can use the video editor with no issues since it would always be above 30fps.

Your welcome.

Thanks I've tried this and it appears to be working during the daytime video recording.  It's the nighttime recording is where I see the choppyness. I'll try it at night tonight.  Only issue I have with uhd 60 fps is more noise and darker quality videos.  I'll try fhd 30 tonight.  Thanks!

  • Don't forget to Deactivate the video option "auto FPS" in your camera settings,  otherwise your phone will automatically move the FPS and it could drop it below 30FPS. If that happens, your video will look choppy for sure once edited.

Somewhere in october I tried exporting my summer holiday video's again, hoping the choppyness was solved. After months of waiting and retrying they seemed to have fixed it (for me at least). Exported file size is also lower compared to my august/september exports.

I have done nothing but wait for updates, maybe they fixed it in a new studio or One UI version.

I'm on a Samsung S23. One UI 6.1, october update. Samsung studio version 6.3.07.0
