Why do I have to hit ok after putting in my lock screen password????

Because it's changed in 6.1 that you now need a 6 digit pin for the ok button not to be needed. There is a workaround until it gets patched

Delete pin.

Add new pin
enter 6 digits
uncheck the box for auto confirm
Then tap it again,
now delete the final two digits
Confirm and save.

Lock phone and unlock, it will now auto confirm with 4 digits.
