I am experiencing a wifi latency issue on my s24 ultra again now that one ui 7 stable has been released. When connected to my wifi network, ping times from a local device to my phone or my phone to a local device is 80-200ms. However, ping times between laptops and other wireless devices is normal at less than 10ms.

I noticed that if I turn on the packet logging through intelligent wifi, the latency on my phone goes back to normal at less than 10ms. However, leaving packet logging on all the time isn't really a fix. When I copied the packet log to my internal storage and then inspected it through Wireshark on my computer, I saw that it was showing a bunch of malformed packets for management frames. Performing the same packet capture on a laptop shows the management frames as normal. So only my s24 ultra appears to be misinterpreting these management frames. With there being a large excess, I am wondering if this is what is causing the issues.

Anyone else experiencing wifi latency on one ui 7?

I tried that previously when I was on the beta and experiencing the issue and it had no impact on the situation. It did improve when the April beta was released, but now that stable has been released, the issue is back.

I wonder if you could do a full factory reset and if there's a software or hardware glitch, it'll be fixed on the reinstall?

I don't think a full factory reset is going to fix the issue. I have tested a few different wifi locations and it doesn't appear to be all wifi networks. This would suggest that depending on the wifi network, the wifi drivers are not properly coded for the features that are being advertised and therefore causing the device to process them as malformed, if that is truly what the issue is.

On the reverse side, it could be those wifi networks not properly broadcasting the features in a way that is compliant with the defined protocol, but then I would expect other devices (windows and Linux) to see the packets as malformed as well.

Very true, the router may need updated/replaced to be able to broadcast the current Wi-Fi but that could be the ISP router which they should update/replace for free. I love Google Fiber, crushes spectrum and at&t here in Kansas City.

I run my own firewall/router with an externally managed AP. If it was an issue on the physical network side, I would expect other devices on my network to be experiencing the same issue. However, a packet capture on those devices show completely normal wifi management frames traffic. Only my s24 ultra shows the packets as malformed.
