I recently updated my galaxy s24 to android 15 as suggested and now I cannot upgrade the TTS voices anymore. it seems that updating of the already installed voice data is no longer allowed without connecting the device to a Samsung account.
I paid the full price for that device and feel like it is already collecting a lot of information about me. therefore i want to use it without Samsung and google account.

Galaxy S24Most functions of any Android phone require linking with your Google account. You won't be able to do much of anything if not connected. No maps, no backups, no cloud services. The fact that you have a Samsung phone, requires that you be logged into your Samsung account, especially if you want updates, backups, use Samsung Pass/pay. Why would you get an electronic tracking device if you are worried about your personal data being collected? Just get a dumb phone to make calls (incidentally, those can be tracked as well through the IMEI and SIM)..
Yes, TTS requires connection to either Samsung or Google, depending on which keyboard and voice engine you are using. But, ideally, you want to stay connected to both accounts or you will be back here complaining that nothing works. It does not matter that you "own your device", you paid for the device as well as the services it utilizes.

Galaxy S24well, thanks everyone for your suggestions. didn't mean to shock anyone saying that i'm not logged in. the device is still very useable to me, it even receives system updates. i figured out that samsung would let me upgrade the entire language packs just not from within the text-to-speech interface. so my initial assumption was wrong here.
i was actually using samsung's text-to-speech software to pronounce words i'm learning with anki learning tool. somehow after upgrading from android 14 to android 15 it doesn't work anymore. i skimmed through the changelogs but cannot find anything related to that. by chance anyone got some ideas around this?
no, now it's definitely not related to not being signed in neither to samsung nor google.
