Galaxy S24ā¢ Check Device Settings: Ensure your phone is not in airplane mode or completely silenced.
ā¢ Verify Alert Settings: Double-check that emergency alerts are enabled in your phone's settings.
ā¢ Check for Interference: If you still don't hear the alert, there might be an issue with the WEA system itself or with your phone's ability to receive the signal.

Galaxy S24Is it possible you just didn't hear it and slept through it? Even though you gave the alerts permission to come through DND, check the alert settings to make sure you have the proper alerts turned on and set the notifications to repeat until dismissed. Also did you get an alert from the emergency alert system, or an app like FEMA or weather? If it's from an app, make sure that app has permission to bypass DND and set an annoying sound for it. Also, check your volume level for system and notification sounds. Also make sure you enabled it to com through the correct DND setting. If you have the stand-alone dnd on, the parameters are different than the dnd iteration in sleep mode. So, if you use sleep mode and just assumed dnd had the same settings as the stand-alone dnd, it does not. The dnd in sleep mode is set, by default, that nothing comes through to disturb your sleep.

Galaxy S24It was in Do Not Disturb, but the alerts used to override dnd. I also added the Emergency Broadcast app to excluded dnd apps.
I think it is because it uses system sounds for the alarm, and I dnd system sounds are muted with no wya to turn then back on.
The biggest problem is it used to work, and now it doesn't. We had 4 hours of tornado warnings last night, and if my mother wasn't awake from the storms I might have slept through it.

Galaxy S24If it is DND not allowing changes to the system sound, edit DND parameters. Where it says app notifications, add any app you want a notification for INCLUDING "wireless emergency alerts", FEMA (if you have the app), and anything else for which you need the notifications to intrude on your peace. Do this also in any mode that includes DND, since every mode's instance of DND can have different parameters.

Galaxy S24But there are no settings i can change in Dnd. I have emergency app turned on, and if I click setting for the emergency alert, it just has toggles that are all turned on. I get the visible alert but no alarm noise.

Galaxy S24I just checked my notification sounds for wireless emergency alerts. Where it used to default to the very obnoxious emergency alert siren sound, it now says use system default sound (which I have set to beep once). Could it be that it reverted for your app as well? I haven't had an alert lately so I cannot test if the alert sound overrides what it says there now. If your alert set itself to a different sound than you were expecting, maybe you just didn't hear it? Check the settings for the app, make sure it has a sound you find annoying enough.

Galaxy S24This happened on my wife's phone as well, and a coworkers pixel (people complaining about no emergency alarm sound in dnd on Google pixels is seen in Google forums too.)
I guess I need to turn off dnd whenever there are storms.
Apparently Nashville is now tornado alley and mostly at night.
