In Menu Notifications, sub choice Advanced Settings and sub choice Repeat Notification Alerts.
This could be a great option if you could limit the number of times it notifies.
So far I can only set the time between notifications for selected Apps, but it will notify all night long until you actually look at the app that caused the notification and it will not also send those on to a Samsung watch.
Has anyone found a way to have it notify X number of times and stop for that notification?
It's like Samsung needs a second option that sets the number of times it notifies and then stops.
I am actually having a hard time understanding why you would need a notification repeated at all. Even if you don't hear the initial notification tone, unless you swipe it away, the notification and the notification icon remain on the status bar and in the notification shade. On certain reminders, I believe you can set how many times, it will repeat, but I don't know for sure, since I don't use reminders, and I could very well be thinking of a specific app. Medication reminders will repeat until you actually dismiss it by tapping dismiss or take, as it should.
I get a text and in the kitchen getting coffee. Come back to desk and start working. Very nice to have another beep. Maybe walking by noisy construction (or traffic noise) and miss the first notification. Its not like I'm constantly checking my phone - maybe hours go by..
I use Textra for messaging and they allow you to set X number of reminders a few minutes apart, but after X has happened - they stop. The new Samsung never stops - but is nice in that with it you can select more than one app.
