Galaxy S25Frankly, the proximity sensor should close the screen when it is to your ear so that doesn't happen. You can check the functionality of the proximity sensor by dialing your voicemail and, while connected, place your palm over the front camera. The screen should go off. The only way it comes back on is when I move my hand away from the camera cutout. You may be unconsciously moving the phone away from your ear while keeping the lower part pressed to your cheek. As soon as the camera senses light, the screen goes back on. The proximity sensor is there for the express purpose of preventing accidental button pushes by one's face when the phone is in use. Many people do tend to hold the phone away from their ear, especially if they have the volume up, as it can be uncomfortable if one is wearing earrings, has sensitive ears, or is on the phone too long. So, a couple of workarounds I can suggest would be 1) make sure you have the phone flush up against your ear, 2) double tap the screen to lock it when you connect to a phone call or, 3) return to your home screen after the call is dialed or picked up. The call will stay active, but the dial pad will be hidden.

Galaxy S25I came here looking for a solution to this problem as well.
As of current, it doesn't look like there is any way to disable the call recording toggle button while you're on a call. However, what I'm baffled about is reading contributors comments recommending we do something like use an earbud or put your cheeks closer so the proximity sensor so your screen stays off.
Sometimes, people will put their phone slightly further away from their face, either just for a quick second because they're doing something else or because the other person may be talking too loud (turning down the volume, sure yes it's a solution but might not be ideal in all settings)
The real solution really should be an option to disable the call recording button. We should be able to go into the settings and just turn it off. There's already a settings page dedicated to the record button, and Samsung should be able to release an update to implement this as it is causing enough people headaches in their professional and personal lives having to explain why their call is all of a sudden being recorded.
Please, Samsung, just add this feature already so we can go back to our normal lives.

Galaxy S25Finally Found a Solution ā Replacing Samsung Dialler with Google Phone
After trying for weeks and just about ready to sell the phone and switch to a Google Pixel or iPhone, I finally found a setup that works.
Iāve replaced the pre-installed Samsung dialler with Google Phone, and it works really well. It does not support call recording, which is actually a plus for meābecause when Iām speaking with customers and that annoying āThis call is being recordedā message kicks in accidentally, itās a massive NO-NO.
Hope this helps anyone else in the same situation.
Honestly, itās such a silly limitation on the default Samsung diallerāhow is there no option to disable or hide the call recording button/announcement? Makes no sense.

Galaxy S25There is no option to disable the announcement because laws vary state to state, country to country and in some states/countries you MUST notify the person on the other end that they are being recorded, especially if it's a conversation you intend to use in court. As for not being able to disable the recording *button*, that was just stupidity on the part of the programmers, as well as the ridiculous placement of the button.

Galaxy S25That is an excellent solution. I hope those having the issue will see it this far down in the post. I would recommend creating a new post titling it as a fix, but I don't know that they mods wouldn't flag it as a duplicate post and delete it. Since you are not the original poster of this thread, you cannot mark it as the solution but creating a new post with a different but related title might get the attention of those who need to see it. Or you can just copy and paste your solution and just use it as a response when you see the issue crop up again.
