Coming from a Galaxy S9 where it was EASY to add images at any time.

 But, my S25+ is different.

If I first type text in the messaging app, the option to utilize the camera disappears.   I can add images from the gallery, but cannot use the camera to take a picture.

When messaging, after entering text, how can I use the camera to capture an image in the same message?

@useroiB1vXArXe After you enter the text, click the + sign to the left. Then select Gallery. The first item shown on the left is the camera. You can use that small view or you can expand the view.

Wow.   That does work...but how RIDICULOUS is this????

The messenger app I am using is     G   Messages.

Thank you very much.   I did click the + sign and saw the GALLERY, but didn't think to burrow down into those menu options.

Silly, childish, unprofessional, crummy programmers.

To resolve the issue of adding images using the camera after typing text on your Galaxy S25+, you can try the following:

  1. Tap the attachment icon (paperclip) next to the text box.

  2. Select the camera option from the menu to take a photo and add it to the message.

If the camera option doesn't show up, ensure that your messaging app has the necessary permissions. You can check for these settings by going to Settings > Apps > Messages > Permissions and ensuring Camera access is enabled.

@victor09 I'm not sure what messaging app you are using. Neither Google Messages nor Samsung Messages have a paperclip icon.

For Google Messages, which is the default app on the S25, follow the instructions that I previously posted.

For Samsung Messages, after entering text, you would need to click the ">" icon to the left of the text and then click on the camera icon.

Keep in mind that the texting apps will send text separate from images, so you could always just send the text, then send the image separately, the user on the other end, and you history would look no different in the end.  I know this is not a solution, but is a possible work around.

Alternatively, you could send the image first, then the text.
