Had this phone about 10 days, and worked with Verizon and Samsung to resolve issue.  On inbound texts, notice received in hearing aids, which is desired.  But inbound phone calls only rings on phone.  How do I change it to ring JUST in hearing aids?  Thanks!

Is it possible that your hearing aid app has not been updated for the new UI/Android version?  Also, can you hear the calls through the hearing aids?  If you cannot, it's possible that you have to turn the setting on in the BT settings to make sure it's connected for calls.

Has been updated, and did work on my Pixel 7.

what brand is your hearing aids? is there a companion app associated with the hearing aids? did your audiologist initially help you setup your hearing aids with your phone?

update: as a fellow hearing aid wearer, I know that with my brand (Oticon) there is no setting that will make the phone ring only in your aids. the phone is going to ring also. what is your brand? Samsung and Verizon will only be so helpful (Verizon barely). your audiologist should be able to assist you, especially since they sold you the aids.

Oticon Real.  Talked to my audiologist and he said it should work.  The aids worked just fine on my Pixel 7 two weeks ago!

Oticon is still trying to figure out all this Bluetooth stuff. I've been using them since 2018. I might have to look at a Pixel if I want to get the most out of my hearing aids. those aren't cheap. it's also helpful to remember that these guys are not making earbuds. as a practical matter, I wear my buds half the time...hearing aids the other half. it all depends. (incidentally, I also use the Oticon Real miniRite. got mine in fall of 2023. I definitely know how they work with Samsung.)

your Samsung phone isn't ringing through your hearing aids, ensure your hearing aids are paired and connected correctly via Bluetooth, and that notification sounds are enabled and not muted within your phone's settings.

Here's a more detailed breakdown of troubleshooting steps:

1. Check Bluetooth Connection & Settings:

Pairing: Make sure your hearing aids are correctly paired with your Samsung phone via Bluetooth.

Ringtone Sync: Navigate to Settings > Connections > Bluetooth > Advanced Settings and ensure "Ringtone Sync" is enabled.

Bluetooth Strength: Ensure the Bluetooth connection is strong and hasn't dropped.

Restart: Try turning Bluetooth off and on again, or restarting your phone.

2. Verify Notification Sounds:

Enable Notification Sounds: Go to your phone's settings and check the notification sound settings for your hearing aids.

Volume: Ensure the volume is turned up and that notification sounds are not muted.

Mute All Sounds: Check if "Mute all sounds" is enabled in Accessibility > Hearing enhancements and disable it.

3. Check for Other Modes or Settings:

Airplane Mode:

Ensure Airplane mode is turned off.

Do Not Disturb:

Check your settings for Do not Disturb and ensure it's not enabled for an extended period or for specific contacts.

Modes and Routines:

Check for any modes that may silence the ringtone, like Sleep or Relax, and disable them.

Media Output:

Check the media output settings to ensure the audio is routed to your hearing aids, not the phone speakers.

4. Update and Reset:

Hearing Aid Firmware: Check for updates in your hearing aid app (e.g., Thrive app for Starkey hearing aids).

Unpair and Re-pair: Try unpairing and re-pairing your hearing aids to your phone.

Phone Reset: If nothing else works, try restarting your phone.

Thanks for the detail response!  Actually, I have tried ALL of these over the past 10 days, and still no ring in the hearing aids.  I'm going to Verizon today and try another Galaxy, and if it doesn't work, I'll go back to Pixel

Have you checked the screen to verify that the paired device is set for phone calls and audio?

Bluetooth | Details | Gear icon next to target device

I get to Bluetooth by dragging down the notification pane then long pressing on Bluetooth.  Then when I follow the path above, I have the option to set if a device is for Phone Calls, or other audio or both, perhaps the hearing aids do not auto setup for phone calls?
