After the OneUI 8.5 upgrade, video chat with another android phone (even another Samsung phone with oneUI 8.5) fails. It keeps saying "video declined". If the other phone tries the same, they get a "video declined" error as well. This seems to work fine before the upgrade as I would make routine video call.

Just a side note, video calls through google Meet do still work however.

Updated phone to 8.5 and now every time I try to make a video call it immediately says video declined. I work on a boat for 3 weeks and this is how I see and talk to my family. Can't find any fix for it online.

I suggest putting in an error report in the support section of the members app. Apparently this bug is limited to AT&T ViLTE only.
Until there is a patch for this, you will need to use Google Meet as a substitute.

It may be necessary to await a carrier settings update, as this is often required to resolve connectivity issues following an One UI system update.

As a workaround I recommend utilizing a third-party application such as Google Meet, as their video features operate independently of the device's core system software.

Did you read my solution before you posted this very long-winded response that has some facts wrong? Since the February security patch, wiping the cache partition is no longer available to most Samsung phones. I use AI chatbots too, then I independently check to make sure what the chatbot is telling me is indeed accurate. It is common for them to hallucinate with the wrong information. Since this is for tech help, it would be a good idea to make sure that the tech help you are trying to advise people with is as accurate as possible. You don't want to be responsible, nor are you accountable if you mess up their devices.
