While in the phone app, click on the three vertical dot on the top right, then choose settings. Then on open the "Record calls" part and toggle off the auto-record calls function.

I have done that all the features are turned off. My cheek keeps hitting that button. I want to see if there's a way to remove that.

I have seen posts like this before and I only threw out that suggestion, but is is obvious that is not the solution. So, is your device supplied by a carrier?

There is no way to remove it.  Your proximity sensor should prevent your cheeks from activating any control or button on the keypad.  How is it your cheek is hitting *that* particular icon and not any of the others?  I presume you made phone calls prior to them adding the recorder and did not activate any buttons or controls.

In order for the proximity sensor to work properly, you have to keep the phone speaker flush with your ear - not an inch away, not a fraction of an inch away.  The proximity sensor works by detecting light, and if it detects any light between your face and the phone, it will not activate. Try it. Dial your voicemail and then put your hand over the top of your phone.  As soon as you touch that part of the screen, the screen will turn off, when you move your hand even a little off the sensor, the screen turns back on.  So, if your cheek is hitting the recorder, you are moving the top of the phone away from your ear (consciously or unconsciously).  It *is* a stupid place for that icon, it should be down on the bottom with the rest of the controls but, again, regardless of where the button is located, the proximity sensor should prevent any action.
