Hey, I have a Magic John screen protector and it's amazing but when I take a selfie with the flash on the picture comes out with a white ring around it. Is there any way to fix that problem?

How can you take a selfie with the flash on?  Does the new phone have a front flash?  I don't know if your screen protector is film or glass, but if it's film, consider choosing a different one, or trimming it to just under the front camera.

@realaud it does not have like a flash as on the back cameras. It produces a very brief bright white screen as the image is being taken. I am thinking that the protector diffuses the light through the thickness the screen protector and that in turn is projected around the edge of the camera cutout in the protector screen.

I was just looking up the specs and I do see it has a flash integrated with the proximity sensor, so it's actually a little below the camera lens.  A film screen protector is much more likely to diffuse the light from the flash, causing those streaks.  I suggest either changing the screen protector or don't take selfies using the flash.  You've done without it all these years.  Why anyone would want to use a flash on a selfie is beyond me, as any light flashing so close to your face is likely to cast shadows, cause redeye and generally make one look haggard.  Also, if you are going to keep the screen protector you have, I suggest you make sure there are no smudges or fingerprint oils over the flash, so basically clean your screen before taking the shot.

Magic John screen protectors are tempered glass. There is no camera cutout on this particular brand. That is what is probably causing the problem.
The one I use has a cutout for the camera.

I would think they would need one with a cutout for the flash, as it is the flash that's being diffused through the glass.  Before there were flashes on the front camera, screen protectors did not interfere with the shot.  I would either get rid of the screen protector or not use the flash for selfies. After all, for all these years there was no selfie flash and people's duck faces came out just fine.

The flash is also used for better face unlock in darker settings.
