Samsung Health and Health Platform are constantly running in the background. I cannot turn them off.

Are they unnecessarily using up the battery?

Can I turn them off? How?

What is Health Platform? And do I need it?

Turn off LTE until you need it. If you did a factory reset it will take about a month before you see any real battery saving due to the watch learning your wearing habits.

Although you are unable to disable or remove these background apps, you will be happy to hear that they typically consume very little battery - less than 1%. Health platform is required and is linked to tracking the various metrics on the watch.

Thank you and that's reassuring. But another issue I had was Samsung health was 45% a couple days ago. I took someone's advice and clear the data in the Samsung Health app. Seems to be okay for the past couple of days. But let's see

It was consuming 45% battery? Wow. Please let us know if that happens again. Do you workout often or for long periods?

I walked once a day about a mile or so. That's basically it for exercising.

I got it at the end of the summer. I love it but want to make sure the metrics are accurate.

Last night around 9:00 p.m. it was 100%. I walked 0.87 miles this morning. Other than that just walking around the house. At the moment Samsung health is at 9.8% and on top of the battery usage. That seems kind of high already. The watch is currently at 77%.

I am most certainly not getting what Samsung claims the battery should last. With no aod the battery will last 45 hours. Not 60 is claimed. With power saving it will last around 55 to 60 hours. Certainly not the 100 hours Samsung claims. What do I do about this?

Hmm. Do you have heart rate and stress measurements set to continuous? That can use a lot of battery over a day. What about blood oxygen, snoring, skin temp while sleeping? Personally, I enable these only on certain nights. Do you have an LTE plan (cellular service) for the watch? If so, that can also significantly drain battery. If you're still having issues after adjusting these settings, you might want to try resetting the watch and restoring from a backup.
