Galaxy WatchIt starts to appear just recently, and I checked that Weather app also has the cannot-be-disabled notification permission, yet doesn't offer an in-app option to stop sending me those notifications. I seriously wish that I can only receive the notifications I expect since we are not on an Apple walled garden. I'll keep my word that I won't purchase any Samsung device if it is not fixed.
I was glad to see that we are finally allowed to disable the daily target notification from Health even tho that only took them half a year to implement, and now Samsung is forcing another one. I don't understand why Samsung is so obsessed with sending some useless notifications DAILY, is someone pointing them with a gun that they must cause the users some trouble????? Now I'm really missing Tizen watches.
There are other people bothered:

Galaxy WatchBased on the test results, it seems that additional processing related to notification permissions is required in the weather app of the phone. This patch will be applied to the future version of the weather app on the phone side. Since this is currently inconvenient for you, please make the following settings on your mobile phone before applying the fix:
1. Settings> Notifications> Advanced Settings> 'Manage notification categories for each app' ON
2. Weather settings> Notifications> Notification Categories> The kind of notification you don't want OFF .
Thank you.

Galaxy WatchI assume you are from the development team. Does that mean users will need the weather app on the phone installed to be able to disable this notification on the watch? Could you please justify this implementation to those who use Galaxy Watches with a non-Samsung phone?

Galaxy WatchThank you for the clarification. I'm not seeing the notifications today so that could indeed be working, which is great

Galaxy WatchI am also having this problem, but I already had "Allow Notifications" turned OFF globally for Weather on my phone which hides the "Notification Categories". To perform the steps you outline requires turning "Allow Notifications" to ON, then disabling all notifications individually (which I am loath to do as often new notification types get added that are ALWAYS Default on for some stupid reason).
Before I set a later annoying time-bomb for myself, can you confirm that this is update is overriding global "Allow Notifications" OFF?

Galaxy WatchThat's what happens to me. I had always disabled the overall notifications permission on the phone but the notification still arrived on the watch. After sending this post, I disabled the app itself on the phone, and also follow the guidance above to enable the notification permission while disable all categories. I haven't seen that annoying notifications thus far, but I cannot confirm if it's either disabling the app or the category that solves the problem.

Galaxy WatchSame for me. I had the overall notification disabled, after enable it and disable all categories I stopped receiving the notifications.
