You wrnt slightly longer and farther on the phone walk, which accounts for more steps and calories. You propably also stepped up your pace slightly, though not enough for you to feel. Did you take a walk with the phone and watch on you at the same time and compare?

Did you take the walk with both devices on you at the same time? Just FYI, the phone is usually more accurate than the watch, since the phone goes strictly by GPS and the watch goes by arm movement -- at least in relation to step count. When doing a walking workout, the watch uses a combination of GPS and arm movement to establish your steps and pace.
