One UI 6 watch update: active workout screens MUCH harder to reopen

Once a workout is started and the watch has gone to sleep, you used to be able to reopen that workout quickly from the home screen with a single click of the active workout icon.

That icon no longer defaults to the active workout so NOW you have to click and scroll through several more screens to try to find and reopen the specific kind of workout activity that is still running in the background somewhere.  That sucks!  This is totally impractical if you're in the MIDDLE of a workout.  Maybe it's manageable if you're going for a slow walk but there's no way this will work if you're doing any kind of fast paced or interval training where you don't have time to stop and screw around with your watch for thirty seconds to find the workout screen every time the watch face goes to sleep.

I call this update a fail from a workout perspective, which is the ONLY reason I have the watch. šŸ˜

Until they fix this, on the watch, swipe up from the bottom to get to the apps screen.  Tap on the "recent apps screen" and select the open workout (it should be the first item). That should be a shorter route than the one you are taking.

I use a double-click of the top button to bring the active workout right back. Set "Go to most recent app" in the Buttons and gestures of the Watch settings. Works for me.

And yes, one of the updates (UI 6 or Samsung Health) did this. Just not sure which. I prefer that the workout keeps the watch on always. It did before and I have NEVER used AOD. Very nice to look at watch instead of pressing a button. Maybe they'll fix one day if enough people join in.

Thanks for the feedback.  For now I'm enabling "always on" display to keep it from going to sleep to begin with.  Not great if you're already struggling with battery life.
