Workout screen disappears during work out

The latest watch update has set my Galaxy6 watch back a decade.

When doing a workout, the HR and workout screen disappears. The phone reverts to the home screen. The workout screen used to stay on during a workout. At least there was a bouncing sneaker at the bottom of the home screen to get back to the workout easily. Now it requires multiple screens and taps to return to the workout.

I've reset the watch and tried other suggested fixes. Please fix the workout display and keep it on during a workout! Thank you.

I know it would be frustrating for the workout screen to disappear and not be able to get back to it.  If the animation is no longer showing since the update, I don't think you have to jump through multiple hoops to get back to it (at least I hope not). People tend to forget about the "open apps" icon on the watch app screen.  Swiping up and then selecting the open apps icon, should show you all the currently open apps, and the workout screen should be visible. If you tap it, you should be able to get back to the workout.  My watch has not gotten the update yet, so I don't know yet if this will be the state of things after the update for me, or if it's a problem unique to the GW6. I have the GW4.

Thank you for the idea. The GW6 doesn't have a swipe up for open apps unfortunately. Great idea

You don't have the circled icon on your apps screen?

The watch does - thanks for pointing this out and the picture!

You can also just set your home button to double press back to last used app. The previous behavior of the app is preferred.

I already have my home button double tap programmed for something else.

Totally understandable. However, I just changed my watch notifications for Samsung Health to be on and it solved the problem as suggested. Never needed before. Guess will have to deal with some noise on the watch now that I didn't care to have before.

I'm hoping when I get the update, it will be sufficient that I am allowing notifications from the phone app and not the watch app. Actually, I'm really hoping they fix it before it rolls out to me (the advantage of being last)
