Home TheaterI have Samsung frame tv with Samsung soundbar and Bixby assistance works only when I use my tv remote when I press the mic button. Soundbar mic button is on but Bixby does not respond with my voice commands even though voice assistant is setup on my tv. I’ve followed setup directions several times, removed and replaced hdmi cable still not working. I’m thinking mic on soundbar is defective, not sure. At one time using voice commands did work. Any suggestions?

Home TheaterThanks for all the suggestions. I found a work around. I’ve added my sound-bar to SmartThings app and setup Alexa settings and now I have Alexa as my assistant with voice commands through my sound-bar. I’ve updated firmware through the app and is set to auto. I prefer Bixby as assistant so I will continue to resolve that issue and will report back once that problem is fixed.

Home TheaterIt's frustrating when your voice commands aren't working as expected with your Samsung Frame TV and soundbar. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue:
Check Microphone Mute: Double-check that the microphone on your soundbar isn't muted. Some soundbars have a dedicated mute button for the microphone. Make sure it's not turned on.
Microphone Position: Ensure that the microphone on the soundbar is not obstructed by any objects. Clear any potential obstructions from the microphone area.
Firmware Updates: Check if there are any available firmware updates for both your TV and soundbar. Sometimes, updates can address compatibility and functionality issues.
Check TV Settings:
- On your Samsung Frame TV, go to Settings.
- Navigate to General > Voice > Voice Assistant.
- Make sure the Voice Assistant option is enabled and properly set up.
Re-pairing Soundbar:
- Disconnect the soundbar from the power source.
- On your TV, go to the Bluetooth settings and forget the soundbar's connection.
- Turn the soundbar back on and initiate the pairing process between the TV and soundbar again.
Reset Soundbar:
- If re-pairing doesn't work, you might consider resetting the soundbar to its factory settings. Refer to the soundbar's user manual for instructions on how to do this.
Factory Reset TV:
- As a last resort, you could perform a factory reset on your Samsung Frame TV. Note that this will erase all your settings and configurations, so be sure to back up any important data or settings before proceeding.
Contact Support:
- If none of the above steps resolves the issue, consider reaching out to Samsung customer support. They might be able to provide specific troubleshooting steps or recommend further action.
Test with Different Mic Source: If possible, test the voice commands using a different source, such as your TV's remote control. This can help determine if the issue is specific to the soundbar's microphone.
Consider Environmental Factors: Sometimes, background noise or room acoustics can affect the soundbar's ability to pick up voice commands. Try using voice commands in a quiet environment to see if that makes a difference.
Remember that technology can sometimes be finicky, and it's a good idea to be patient while troubleshooting. If you're unsure about any of the steps or if the issue persists, getting in touch with Samsung's customer support would be a valuable next step.
