Q990B needs wifi to connect to tv?

Does the Q990B need wifi when using HDMI cable to connect to the TV?

Does connecting to a 2.4Ghz or 5Ghz wifi change the network that the bar will use to communicate with the rear speakers and subwoofer?

Hi there, Great questions!

1. You will not need a Wi-Fi connection to watch content from a device connected through HDMI. However, if you are using a streaming service, or wish to use any of the Smart features on the TV, you will need to connect the TV to the network. 

2. You can use either the 2.4Ghz or the 5Ghz Wi-Fi networks, but all the devices will need to be on the same one to be able to communicate with each other.
