Samsung Q990D unresponsive after 1020 firmware update

Since the update, the soundbar is unresponsive and can't be reset.

Seems like quite a few people with the issue

please remember your consumer rights. 

since this merchant is unwilling to accept liability and only insisting in sending in expensive items to repair. Which personally from experience are for items that are B.E.R (Beyond Economical Repair). Go to your place of purchase, it’s still under warranty if less than a year and the retailer will deal with this mess rather than repeating to what we know to do ourselves. 

Absolute **bleep**-take, wanted to use the ‘Airplay’ functionality to stream some music , only to suffer like the rest of us poor folks in this forum. 

Rest assure, I ain’t gonna be sending any piece of hardware back. Only to perhaps receive it back in a more damaged state. Since Samsung has violated my confidence. They need to do start talking and coming up with better solutions or replacements.

Just got off technical support chat and he had no idea of this and tried to tell me the repair would be my charge and I said I didn't cause the issue so he escalated it and I might someday get a call or email.  Not holding my breath.

Truly pathetic. This is what I was talking about in my previous post. Like a generic reply you get from customer support, they don't have a clue.

This is extremely bad that we haven't heard anything from Samsung, premium top end device too. You can bet if it were one of their phones we'd have heard something by now.

Just called Samsung and they are getting high amount of calls for this and are escalating my ticket and should hear in 24 to 48 hours. We will see.

Just talked to Samsung service in my country, they have no idea what's going on. No news or reports from Samsung yet.

My q990d is bricked also now. Hopefully Samsung can solve this issue without having send off for repair, can't book a repair either currently as the system is down for maintenance, brilliant lol

Same exact issue here in USA. Q990D bricked by firmware update. If Samsung doesn't offer an official reply within the next 24 hours I will be seeking recourse through the U.S. - Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act and recommend all other seek to exercise any similar rights they might be afforded in their individual countries... absolutely atrocious customer service response thus far.

Same issue here in Philippines. Bricked my Q990D after that **bleep**ty 1020.7 firmware update. I'm yet to reach out to Customer Service.
