I was recently forced to get a FIOS TV one box to replace my previous box which had aged out.
Sporadically after I turned everything off using the FIOS voice remote, the TV would inexplicably turn on showing a type of Verizon splash screen, and telling me to hit any button on the remote to go to live television. I took this to mean that the box was off, but detected the television was on.
I spoke with Verizon tech, and after I convinced them it was happening I was advised to disable "TV input control" on the box. The TV now turns off and stays off, but now it doesn't always turn on in response to the remote.
Has anyone else seen this and if so is there a reason this is happening, and a solution?
