My Samsung UN75AU8000 is connected to a Sony sound bar with a HDMI cable.  My Bluetooth transmitter is connected to my TV via an optical cable.  If I am streaming I get sound from both my sound bar and my headset.  My headset is connected via Bluetooth to my blue tooth transmitter.  However if I am watching Directv and using the headset the sound will not come from the sound bar but reverts to the TV speakers.  Why is this?

Hello! Thank you for reaching out! Unfortunately they would not be possible you would only be able to use the headphones with the TV speakers you would not be able to use them with the soundbar. You can use this link for more information about the multi output audio.

I have the exact same problem that you do.  I have not been able to fix it despite many conversations with a number of tech support people over time.  If I were buying a new TV I would get one with multiple audio outputs.  You may be interested in my recent post under "Moondoggie2".
