How can I add channels without running a scan? or even just manually tune to a channel not in the scan list?
Not all the transmitters are in the same direction so the antenna has to be pointed different for different channels. It is not feasible to rescan every time I change channels. It would be fine if you could scan and only add new channels, but instead it deletes all previous channels every scan.
Omni-directional antenna won't work, signal isn't strong enough.
I've never found a way to manually save a channel. I use OTA tv a lot and it's really madding when a weak channel disappears and then you have to rescan and save all the favorites again. Why this can be made an option, I don't know.
Even if a scan adds a channel, if you try the channel a few times when the signal is too weak to meet the tuner signal threshold, it will just delete the channel. Please make it stop deleting channels and also let us add channels manually.
No replies so I guess there's no way, so I have to ask why Samsung removed this option? Do they not have the sense to know that there might be cases where not every channel gets picked up in a single scan?
There doesn't appear to be a way to add single channels manually on my Samsung TV. Just guessing that Samsung would rather steer everyone onto its built-in Live TV application. I can't even get a good scan after trying four different antennas and nine different cables. It's very frustrating, but I suspect that since this feature has relatively few users compared to streaming, satellite, and cable customers, it won't receive much attention. If I can get it working, I will follow up on this post. (DirecTV works fine through the same coax connection so it's not a problem with the coax port)
