990 PRO 4TB REALLY SLOW 400MBPS WRITE SPEED

I've got the 990 PRO 4TB version for about a month. It was running fine, really fast and stuff. Suddenly yesterday, it was only transferring files at 80 - 140mbps which was really strange. Then I noticed half of my work files on it were corrupted and some even went missing, I had to use recovery software to regain back some of my files. I ran the Samsung Magician benchmark speed test and only able to get 3000mb/s read and 400mb/s write!! Everything is updated, latest firmware on the 990 PRO.

Im using it as an external drive for my creative work, it sits in ZIKE 666 USB 4 Enclosure, with USB 4 cable, plugged into my laptop through USB 4 port and it was able to reach the advertised speed when I benchmark with samsung magician but now, not anymore. I test the ZIKE 666 USB 4 enclosure with another Gen4 SSD the WD BLACK SN850, benchmark it with Crystal DIsk Mark and it runs fast means the enclosure is fine.

Use 4K alignment software to align your ssd. If your ssd is not aligned properly the ssd has to access twice as many physcial sections of the ssd for any file operations, a huge slow down.

Hey there, thank you for the suggestion. I've looked up for some 4K alignment software and I've tried EASEUS software for 4K alignment, it took about 5-6 hours. But no luck, the speed doesn't improve. I guess my last option is to send for RMA.

Have you emptied the Recycle Bin lately?
