That's what was happening. Sony had to reprogram headphones. Thanks for responding

Just turn on the Bluetooth and turn. On the headphones after then if nothing pops up remember what was on it cause u need to turn off the Bluetooth then turn it on and if something u didn't see pop up that's ur headphones.

They connected to my galaxy 12. This a 14. Turning on headphones they say Bluetooth connected. My other phone is out of commission. Can't even turn it on

Do you have a watch, TV, or other BT device that you have previously connected the headphones to?  BT devices tend to automatically reconnect to the last device they were connected to.  So, if your headphones say they are connected, you have to figure out what they are connected to, then disconnect them from that device and connect them to the one you want.
