Projectors & Other TVsHow do you turn off the auto-detect HDMI feature? Sometimes my Apple TV comes on and then the TV automatically turns on as well but I don't want the TV to do so. How do you turn off this feature?
Thanks,
Mark

Projectors & Other TVsFirst of all, this thread is marked as solved. Does anyone posting here consider this solved?
In my case I have a Chromecast dongle attached to HDMI3. The thing is, it doesn't actually turn on until I change the input to HDMI3, so if the TV has decided to remove HDMI3 from my menu then that causes a "chicken and egg" problem.
Another problem is that my digital cable box is attached to HDMI2. The TV keeps asking me to set up TV on HDMI2. Why? I don't need it set up.
What I want to do is set up my inputs and lock them. I don't want the TV to change them, or keep asking me to set them up. Is that too much to ask?

Not completely solved, I shouldn't have to leave CEC off, but as long as I'm willing to do that it no longer changes sources when I turn on a source I'm not watching.
But now, even with CEC off on both the TV and my streamer, if I turn the TV off while set to my streamer, when I turn the TV on it also turns on the streamer. It's a minor pain because the streamer takes a while to boot before I can turn it back off. But I realize that's a different issue than this thread was intended to address...

Projectors & Other TVsPossibly slightly off-topic, but not much. I made the mistake of upgrading my ageing Samsung soundbar to a new 4k compatable Samsung soundbar. That has now demonstrated that it has the same problems (different TV). With Anynet+ turned OFF it behaves immaculately, turn Anynet+ ON and we get random changes of source resulting in the TV defaulting to Internal Speakers, which kind of defeats the object of having a soundbar. Other times it will Mute or Power Down without any user input whatsoever. Still waiting for a reaction from Samsung but my uneducated opinion it seems like they have a basic problem with Anynet+ across all of their products that use it. In the meantime a response to my support request would be gratefully received

Projectors & Other TVsFor gaming systems like the ps4 within their respected settings there is a way to disable hdmi link. Example ps4 in settings>system>enable hdmi link>checkmark for on, unchecked for off.
Not sure if apple tv or other devices have these settings.

Projectors & Other TVsAs I mentioned before, it has been confirmed by Samsung (to me) that is a feature of 2016 TVs. It is independent of ANY setting on either the TV or any other device that enables any kind of HDMI link. And this feature cannot currently be turned off.
What we are pushing for is a firmware update to enable the user to turn this feature off.
