Parental control settings on smart tv universal guide.

Press home, press down = Universal Guide. Shows content from different sources. Great.

All the way at bottom is parental lock. Set programme rating lock to 12. Almost all icons change to this lock icon and require my pin including content below thay rating - 

Am I completely misunderstanding how this is supposed to work? Also is there a way to have it still display the thumbnails but require a pin?
