QLED and The Frame TVsIf you've recently encountered image distortion issues while watching OTA (Over-the-Air) channels on your Samsung TV, despite it working fine for a while, you're not alone. Many users experience similar problems, and although you may have gone through several troubleshooting steps, the issue can stem from various factors. Below, we explore some potential causes and solutions to help you resolve this problem.
1. Issues with the TV’s Tuner (ATSC or Digital Tuner)
Even if you've checked the antenna and other channels, the problem might be with the TV's internal tuner. Sometimes, internal tuners can malfunction without affecting streaming apps, but they can impact OTA signals.
Solution:
If a technician hasn’t thoroughly inspected the tuner, this could be the next step. You might need to request a tuner replacement if it’s found to be defective.
2. Signal Interference or External Disturbance
External devices or interference near the antenna can disrupt the OTA signal, affecting only the channels you’re trying to watch. Even if the antenna works fine on another TV, interference might be impacting just your Samsung TV.
Solution:
Ensure no other electronic devices are positioned too close to the antenna or TV, such as routers, speakers, or wireless devices that could cause signal disruption.
3. Firmware Issues
Even though you've updated the firmware, there might be bugs that still affect OTA reception. Occasionally, firmware updates fix issues related to signal reception or image processing, but they can sometimes require manual installation.
Solution:
Try updating the firmware once more and ensure your TV is connected to the internet during the update process. Some users have reported that manually downloading and installing the firmware from Samsung’s website can be more effective.
4. Resolution or Picture Settings Problems
Incorrect picture settings might cause distortion, especially on text or fine details. Adjustments like contrast, brightness, or picture modes may lead to problems that only appear with OTA channels.
Solution:
Adjust your TV’s picture settings. Disable auto picture mode, tweak the contrast, or try using a different preset like “Standard” or “Movie.”
5. OTA Signal Source Problems
While your antenna may work well on another TV, the OTA signal might be distorted on your Samsung TV. Factors such as weather conditions or suboptimal antenna placement could affect the quality of the signal.
Solution:
Ensure your antenna is in the best possible position for signal reception. Consider using a signal amplifier, or if the problem persists, try replacing the antenna to see if that resolves the issue.
6. Try Different TV or Channels
Even if you’ve already tried other channels, make sure to verify if the issue is specific to certain channels. There may be problems with the broadcast station or the particular channel you're tuning into.
Solution:
Test your TV with a different antenna or check other hesgoal channels. You could also connect your TV to another antenna that’s been confirmed to work on another TV to see if the issue still occurs.
7. Test with HDMI Cable or Other External Sources
To isolate the issue, try connecting an external source, such as an external OTA receiver, via HDMI. This can help determine if the issue lies with the internal tuner of your TV.
Solution:
Connect an external device like an OTA receiver to your TV using an HDMI cable and check if the picture quality improves. If it does, the problem is likely with the TV’s internal tuner.
Conclusion
If you’ve exhausted all of the above solutions and the problem persists, there may be an issue with your TV’s hardware that requires professional repair or replacement. Hopefully, one of these steps will help you pinpoint and resolve the OTA signal distortion on your Samsung TV.

QLED and The Frame TVsThis is helpful. It seems Samsung Techs only consider #5. Anyway to direct them to the other ones when they troubleshoot? I've checked 2,3, 4,6 and many other tests. I don't have the hardware to do #7.
