QLED and The Frame TVs

Out of the box, I can’t use any apps on my Samsung Frame TV. Any time I try to open an app such as Netflix it takes me to the screen to install but won’t let me install as it says SmartHub updating. It also fails step 5 of the SmartHub connection test. Very frustrating. All wifi diagnosis run fine and I can watch Samsung TV app no problem. Only thing that works on the tv…

FYI, the following steps Samsung provided me with worked!

Thank you for waiting. Please follow these steps:

1. Connect the TV to a different network like mobile hotspot.

2. Perform a Cold boot. On your Samsung remote, please press the power button for 5 seconds until the TV turns off.

3. Perform a Smart Hub reset. Navigate to Settings, select Support, and then select Device Care. Select Self Diagnosis, and then select Reset Smart Hub. When resetting Smart Hub, you may be asked to enter the TV's PIN. The default PIN is 0000.If you have ever changed the PIN on your TV, enter your PIN to start the reset.

4. Perform a Factory Reset. Open Settings, and then select General. Select Reset, enter your PIN (0000 is the default), and then select Reset. To complete the reset, select OK. Your TV will restart automatically. If these steps don't match your TV, navigate to Settings, select Support, and then select Self Diagnosis. Reset will be located in that menu.

Only thing that works on the tv is the Samsung tv app. Clearly connected to the internet, but can't install any apps.

From my experience, Samsung TVs need to be connected to your Wi-Fi network (or via a LA connection) to function properly. This is sometimes best accomplished using the SmartThings app on your Samsung phone or tablet, but can be accompanied directly through the TV as well.

Ensure that your phone or tablet is connected to the same wi-fi network that you wish to connect the TV to.
