Digital Wellbeing is just a fancy app tracker. Why does it only have an app timer, and not a function to add limits to app opens?

There are many third party apps out there that do this, but require too many phone permissions. Digital Wellbeing could very well add this feature, and limit the risk to consumers who want it but have to rely on some sketchy app to get it.

Expanding Digital Wellbeing beyond a tracker and timer to more customizable functions is overdue.

You can set a routine to shut your app down after a set period of time. Or you can activate parental controls which will let you put limits on apps/activities. No third party app involved. You could also exercise self control and pay attention to the app timer. I was actually under the impression that setting an app timer in DW would shut the app down when the timer expired.

I am familiar, however what I am looking for is a limit to app opens which is not in digital wellbeing or parental controls, and many third party apps for screen time management have a function that limits app opens. Having a function that limits app opens means that you can limit how many times you or your child can open an app for a set amount of time.
