Do I have to join the dark side?

I am a die-hard Android user because I'm convinced that it is simply better than iPhone. However, the only thing that is convincing me to join the dark side (get an iPhone) is the fact that sometimes text messages do not go through, even though the phone says they did. This includes text messages that I send out or text messages that people send me. MetroPCS support has not been able to fix the issue, and I'm unsure if this is an issue with my phone or my service. Is there anyone here with an Android who has never experienced this? Does anyone have any recommendations? I have a Samsung Galaxy A71. I am even willing to get the flagship Samsung Galaxy if that fixes this issue, it just bothers me knowing that an unknown number of conversations have been disrupted because of this. Thanks!

Thanks! I tried that and the problem was worse in some ways. For starters, some messages came as a blank space. Like someone pushed spacebar and sent me that as a text. Other times it simply didn't go through at all, especially if someone sends me a link

Scratch that I don't think my software is up to date. My phone says that it is, but it was last updated in March of this year. That's insane, I didn't know that my phone was so old that they stopped giving it software updates 😭

I don't see changing to iPhone fixing the issue sometimes android and phones texts don't play nice as for the texts Google messages will be better option turn on rcs as for service that's a different issue you would notice the signal bars low or dropping call for example the a71 I believe is at or close to end of support

Thanks for your input. It would at least fix the issue of sending iPhone to Android or vice versa, especially since I've only seen this issue happen in these scenarios. Oh that's interesting, I wasn't aware of this. I will have to look into whether or not the a71 will be supported for much longer

It's been a on and off issue with android and phones see mentioned every now and than don't think it's as bad as it was

Hold up I think you might be right. My phone says that it was last updated in March of this year and the phone says that it is up to date, but maybe the latest updates have not been sent to my phone because it's so old 😫
