Manually recording resting heart rate on GW6

When I wake up and before my coffee.  I turn my GW6 to manual heart rate check and get a few records. I then mark it as resting heart rate on the GW6 before switching it back to continuous heart rate monitoring. I have always done this.

This manually recorded resting heart transferred to Samsung Health. Then Samsung health updated and it no longer shows  any manual check as resting heart rate. Only the check done through continuous monitoring. I don't get it, as the watch has the functionality on the manual check to say what type of record it is and it always did this. The problem lies with anything after version 6-26-7-008

Frankly the resting heart rate check is useless. It always does it when I'm not rested. Like sat on a motorway at 70MPH whilst driving. Its always ridiculously high. I just reinstalled version 6-26-7-008 and turned off auto updates. However somehow with this turned off, it still updates now and again and is starting to get on my nerves.

Can this be added back into Samsung Health please? Its just showing data from the watch. I've no idea why it was removed.

So, I've notice a few times that I'll take a blood pressure reading with a third party blood pressure device that is recommended by Samsung and connected via Bluetooth.

If I look at the dashboard in the Samsung Health app, it will show my prior reading, but not the one I just performed; however, if a tap and open the blood pressed tab, the reading is listed, and it eventually shows up on the main screen as my last blood pressure reading taken.

Have you opened the heart rate tab to see if your manual heart rate reading is there?

Thanks for your reply. The data is definitely on the Samsung health app, if you go through an individual day, I can find the records that I manually check, but it doesn't show as resting heart rate anywhere. On some days i don't stop moving enough for the continuous monitoring to check resting heart rate. On these days, it shows as no resting heart rate everywhere, even when I have pulled the manual check on the watch and put the record status as resting heart rate. Its as if the app will only recognize resting heart rate done through continuous monitoring. However when I roll  back the app version, all the manual resting heart rate checks just reappear.

I can only assume that Samsung has decide that the resting heart rate is being used as a baseline comparison and not part of your tracked heart rate history, which is why it would do it in the background, from time to time, on it's own. This makes some sense.

If you turn off the automated tracking for the day, and take all the readings yourself, then I would asume that all the readings appear?

When on auto, does the manual heart rate that you take appear, even for a moment, so that you know it's been completed?

Seems like auto heart rate tracker is a 'set it and forget it' feature and that Samsung doesn't expect users to be taking manual readings once the 'auto' mode has been selected.

Myself, I don't use this feature as it would wear down the battery life on both my watch and phone. Further, I don't wear a watch when at a keyboard, which is most of my day, as I'm retired and like to game on my PC.

I ran the update and looked at it again. Samsung have just reduced the functionality of the app. It's no longer integrated with the watch as you can record info that no longer shows in samsung health unfortunately. Anyway, I just rolled it back to version 6-26-7-008. This version still gives me the functionality I want. I like the baseline comparison. I want my actual rested heart rate, not heart rate when I just don't move for a couple of mins. It's very frustrating.
